A Confident Start to School Life

Kindergarten at Al Fasaha Private School

A thoughtful beginning for each child.

Starting Kindergarten is a big moment. Children are discovering new routines, new relationships and new ways of learning while parents are wondering whether their child will settle in, take part and receive the attention they need.

At Al Fasaha Private School in Al Khoudh, Muscat, our Kindergarten journey includes two learning levels and a more personal classroom experience. Smaller classes give teachers more opportunities to listen, observe and respond to individual children as they become comfortable with school life.

Kindergarten Pathway

Two Kindergarten Levels in Al Fasaha School

Al Fasaha offers two Kindergarten levels, allowing children to progress gradually through their early school years. Rather than treating Kindergarten as one single experience, each level represents another step towards greater familiarity, participation and independence.

Level 01

Kindergarten Level 1

KG1

A first step into the Kindergarten journey, helping children become familiar with the classroom, routines and participating with others.

Level 02

What We Want Children to Experience

Kindergarten should feel personal, participatory and secure.

The four priorities below describe the experience we want children and families to recognise across the Kindergarten years.

01

Known as an Individual

Children do not all settle into school in exactly the same way. Smaller classes make it easier for teachers to become familiar with individual children and notice how they participate and respond.

02

Comfortable Taking Part

Confidence often starts with small moments: answering a question, joining an activity, speaking to a teacher or working alongside classmates. Al Fasaha gives children plenty of opportunities.

03

Supported as They Learn

Children may understand the same activity at different speeds. A more personal classroom gives teachers greater opportunity to notice when a child may need more explanation or time.

04

Ready for What Comes Next

Kindergarten should make the move into Elementary feel like the next step in a familiar journey rather than a completely new beginning.

Kindergarten in Al Fasaha School

More Than Sitting at a Desk

Young children experience school through more than one type of activity. They listen, speak, practise, move, interact with classmates and become familiar with being part of a school community.

The classroom remains at the centre of the Kindergarten experience, while other school spaces can support different parts of the day. A.F.S also has a playground and other learning facilities. Parents can explore our Facilities page to see the spaces available across the school and ask which facilities are currently used by each Kindergarten level.
